Russell David Bradley died 3 weeks ago at La Paz County Campground (AZ) launch ramp while getting the waverunner on the trailer. Shari (his girlfriend) found him the next morning under water behind the waverunner. A memorial plaque (made by a friend of theirs) has been placed at Lake Crowley inside Beaver Cove for Russell. He was known at Lake Crowley too. I'm sure many of you guys who fish the Mammoth area or passed by may have knew him, heard about him, or know him. He was a chef in the Austria Hof Lodge in Mammoth. He also worked in The Restaurant At Convict Lake. When the season ends, they then head to Parker AZ for 3 months and camp on the Colorado River in La paz County Campground. His name is Russell David Bradley, he has a girlfriend named Sherry Stover,a brown and white camper, and a (dog) black lab named Full Throttle. We met him years ago while camping on La Paz County Campground. We got back on Sunday form our 8th annual trip there and heard the info. Russell was 47 and was well known by a lot of people who hung out at The Roadrunner (a floating bar and restaurant on the Colorado River) and people in general who visited the river Oct-December. I don't know how well he was known in the Mammoth area which is why I'm posting this. He was a nice guy and a very good cook too. He has been cooking all his life and lost feeling in his finger tips from all the hot meals and dishes he made. Here are a couple of websites about him and one with a picture. He has an extensive resume for his cooking skills. The toxicology tests will be available soon. He had a pretty bad drinking problem but had been feeling numbness and swelling in his feet before the incident. He didn't go see a dr. His diet consisted mostly of hot dogs and alcohol. He didn't eat the food he prepared and cooked.
