Wondering how fishing is at that time. Do the lakes sometimes freeze over by that time? Wonder if it is worth a trip.

Epic... fall fishing in the mammoth area is possibly the most fun fw fishing there is... all i ask is that you release everything but the stockers... browns especially since they are moving up to spawn

oh, and the lakes shouldn't be frozen over, but access to the upper lakes (those in the loop) will depend on snowfall. As of now, Lake Mary road is still open and there is access to all lakes. A snowstorm could change this, but i dont think that should influence your decision. There will be places to fish regardless and the fishing there will be stellar...
