San Pedro , Ports O Call fish markets down there are great.

edit* just so you know...the big bonita showed up in SaMo bay today! not sure exactly where but the marina del rey boats got into some good numbers.

FYI selling sport caught fish is a big no no. Fines can be as much as 5 thousand even if its not for eating.
