Yes, i am posting a report..I'm letting everyone know, STRIPERS ARENT THE ONLY FISH IN CASTAIC! haha went out yesterday started fishin about 1, pretty good day out there!
Total fish count: 40+, we stopped counting after the 10th lmb and 15th striper..

Interesting part: I got a trifecta today, all different bass species..no cats, no trout, no carp, no panfish,... i was a firm believer that there was no smallies in castaic..but i got this really nice smallie at about 2 1/2 lbs- 100% proof there are smallies in castaic

since im posting: Ryan and I went to DVL on friday to try out our hand..did pretty well, a pair of 5 pounders back to back is pretty good =D

Nice job on the tri-fecta!

I never saw a smallmouth at Castaic either.

That looked like a nice grade of striper in the live well.

Nice job on that smallie. I haven't heard of anyone catching a smallmouth at Castaic! I know they have them at Piru, but I haven't ever seen one aside from pictures.

Great job Jeff those are some nice bass and a smallie bonus to top it off. I saw your shad net in the boat, is that how you caught them? Are the shad in the coves to were they can be netted?

Thats one biggie smalls.

I havent seen a smallmouth that size in a while.. Most of the smallies i catch in the desert are barely over 14 inches. They are beautiful fish.

we didnt really keep track of that, but a 5 bag would of been like 15-20 lbs.. we got some nice ones, avg size was about 2.5

back of the coves... front of the coves... side of the coves... middle of the lake, they are everywhere, but more concentrated to the back of the coves.

Doesn’t mean I didn’t slay B4 I went to work either !...ha ha ha.

I landed 13 jailbirds in the AM and then tooled off ta the workfront with 2 minutes to spare ! (what a country !)

Nice work on them fish guys, those are nice chuncky bass, theyv’e been getting into the mix for some time now….

I too know that there are more than stripes swimming in them thar’ water’s !

I nailed 10 of those feisty mossbacks saturday as well as over 3 limits of stripes also.

Those bucketmouths are ALL JUICED UP ! and on fire and are EXPLODING ! topwater !

It’s a feva’ and the only cure is some mo’ drag peelin’

We know it isn’t just the jailbirds…
