My friend Greg and I decided to fish the Harbor after school today. We got there at about 4:30 and fished until dark. We started out drop shotting but then we switched over to catching opaleye. After catching countless opaleye and getting kicked out of our spot we fished wham tails and I was awarded with a nicer grade bonito and a legal sand bass. We also lost a few short but good sized cuda, it would have been nice to have the three B's in the harbor.

Good job guys. It's nice you got a bass, I hear they've been kind of twitchy with the warmer water.

Thats nice size bonito from the harbor! and nice sandbass too. dropshot gulp jerkshads seem to work really good around the docks for spotties and sandbass. What are you using for the bonito? I like the 3/4 oz megabaits for harbor fishing. I love fishing the docks LOL...

See ya sunday.

You'll get kicked out less now that it's cooling off. Peoples' tempers tend to chill when the temperature drops for some reason. Nice bonehead!

great report,

are you not allowed to fish anywhere in the harbor? Who kicks you out, restaurant owners?

Boat owners. There are no fishing signs painted on the sidewalks in most places, but not on the docks. So, if a boat owner lets you fish on their dock, you are good to go. Some guys will get upset if you fish from the sidewalks (and you technically aren't allowed to), so they'll tell you to leave. Some areas you are fine though, just look for the no fishing sign.

I caught the bone and the bass on a clear wham with red flakes. Thanks to Japan Ron for the tip.

Usually boat owners say you are not allowed to fish there but some boat owners are cool and will stop and talk to you about fishing and sometimes invite you on the dock. Today someone actually called the cops on us instead of asking us to leave but the cops said its really no big deal.

looks like you guys had a good time, heck i say antime you catch something is a good time! What is with some people getting all pissed about people fishing at certain places, its not like you guys were tagging **** up? have you checked with the laws and regulations about certain fishing places? Where they have those signs, some of those signs that say no fishing are sometimes not legit.
