Get the call from Phil that his fishing partner Elaine is sick and is going to be able to make it out for a night of fishing for Irvine Lake Monster Cats. get to the lake about 4:30 pm and catch up with Whitney. Phil shows up we launch the boat and head out. 1st spot we post up at is one of the coves down by the damn on the west shore. Phil catches a little one. Trolly and Pontoon come cruising by and post up by the buoy line get their rods out talk to us for a few minutes then its night night time for them.
Just before dusk we move to our spot( IM ALLOWED TO TELL THE SPOT BECAUSE THAT MIGHT BE WHERE PHIL FISHES THE KING OF THE CATS TOURNEY) but we post up and put the big baits out big chunks of mackerel, skipjack, and bonito. First rod goes off i get a run on the mackerel head he drops it few minutes later hes back this time running like a train set the hook FISH ON get him in a solid 5 lber.
Next bite on a big chunk of mackerel set the hook bam another solid fish. we got solid fish all night long till it got freezing cold.
End of the night tally 10 fish for 47.10 lbs big fish going 8.10, 6.11, 6.8, 5.10 and other quality fish as you can see
