View Full Version : First time chasing boils.late report

Went out to castaic about a week and a half ago with hopes of catching my first striper on topwater boil.I allways thought it looked funny wacthing guys run, on a mad out sprint to cast out to the boiling striper:LOL:.Well that day i was one of them :Cool:.
I quikly realized i was very out of shape:Shocked:.Seen two or three boils attempted to reach them but seemd like i was :Dead Horse:.As i would try running full speed falling between every rock, there would be another guy what looked like to me as him skipping across the rocks reminded me of the movie crouching tiger hiddon dragon:EyePop:.
Well after all that hard work it finally paid off.Was able to make it to a boil think it was the biggest boil of the day lasted close to a minute,and was able to catch these.http://i370.photobucket.com/albums/oo142/LEEBOY3/fishing023.jpg

Good job on the boil chase, I did it on Saturday but from a boat its a lot easier. Cool tat and thanks for the post.

Yes I liked your post and I still need to catch my first striper. Those fish in thier guts almost looks like a bunch of lost lures. Good job on your first ones, You worked for it.

WTG Lee! I know you can do it just like everyone else. As long as you get there on time and work your lure right, you'll have a chance to catch them. Hopefully you'll catch a bigger models soon. :Big Grin:

like the blood shot. chasing boils from the shore can be hazardous to your legs and ankles,but worth the effort when you can catch 'em like that. i've been trying the last 4 trips for nada but its fun to see the boils. thanx for the report and pics. good luck on your next trip
