BB Tubing question

When Float tubing big bear where do you normally launch from and is there a fee? Do they enforce the life jacket issue?

Actually you are supposed to get a Permit prior to launching any water craft at BBL....

I have never done it, (didnt know first few tmes??).
Never been hassled, BUT????

PFD is required by law everywhere...
Mine is attached to side of Tube ($5 at wally word)..

I have launched at several locations...
I look for a spot close to road or parking, so I dont have to carry it so far...LOL.

Patrol will hit you up for a pass. If you fish the evening or early morning you might not get hit up but there's a pretty good chance that you will get checked during the day. It use to be that the patrol would actually sell you a permit on the water, I would get one ahead of time.

Bad news though the prices went way up do to the mussel inspections. I think it's $12.00 a day now or I have the annual pass at $45.00. Get the pfd but I know a buddy of mine never brings his and has never been hit up.

The marinas, not the private marinas. North Shore marina, near Fawnskin, is where I usually get mine.
