View Full Version : Castaic, trolling with John on Friday 9-25-09

John and I met up at 4:30 pm on Friday and ran to the entrance of Elizabeth Canyon to look for boils.

There were none so we put out the trolling rig. We had a few short hits before we hooked up then I farmed the first one on.

We started picking up fish around the area while looking for the honey hole.

We knew we had found it when John picked up this 4+ pounder.

We were short on time and didn't stop for pictures until we were off the water.

The honey hole was a little different this time, it was moving slowly up the bank. Each time we went through it was a little farther down the bank.

At the very end of the day we picked up a few doubles on one pass after the next.

What a great way to finish off a work week and start a new weekend!

We got 15 fish in 2 1/2 hours.

John was fired up! His little cooler was full. He's going to need a bigger one for limits.

Went back on Sunday evening with Jim Brown for 3 1/2 hrs at the end of the day. We got 7 striper' to 2 lb. on the troll early and one 1/2 lb bass at the end of the day.

I'm sorry I forgot to take pictures.

The bite in the fish arm died around 5:00 pm, at least for us.

I'm thinking that, that's when T/O left the lake.:LOL:

I do plan to leave at least one fish for the 17th though.
