I haven’t been to Silverwood in a couple of months and remembered that last year at this time the vegetation was really thick near shore, making shore fishing from some of the beaches relatively impossible – is it just as bad this year?

Thanks!

Depends on the water level and the vegetation has been going up and down. I've been working topwater from shore several times a week and can always find channels or wade out past the weed line. The best thing to do is bring a pair of wetsocks, sandals or go barefoot and wade out to the weedline then toss your bait.

I never thought of that.

I would like to go up there and get some stripers very soon.
