mofo's first surf perch

Took Andy down to the beach for his first surf fishing
adventure and hoping to land a few corbina, found
some nice soft shell crabs and could see the slider's
from time to time but didnt come across any takers.

However, Andy did catch his first bsp and then another
while I got the skunk.

The best thing about the surf is that you never quite know what the hell you are going to pull in and during the summer it's a great way to stay cool.Wait until you stick a Leo,Halibut or a nice fighting Corbina!

Bones is right, it's an addiction. It's such a pure form of fishing...standing on the beach with a minimum of gear, reach down in the sand and pin on a sandcrab, cast out and the fight's on...Surfperch are such bulldogs...A fish that lives it's whole life in violent waters, agressive and able to use that slab body against the ebb and tow of the surf...Costs nearly nothing to fish the surf, and the rate of return is priceless. Keep at it, Paintnfish, that huge bean or slab cowperch is out there waiting for you! Mofo, your hooked!
