[mammothfishin]

After last weeks knee test (http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=167909) was successful my friend and I went on a little fishing trip. My ACL is healed and is more stable than it has been in eighteen years. Sometimes I wonder why I waited this long to get it done but I was cursing myself for being down most of the summer. I am glad the rehab is over and finally able to get out and the the things I like to do better than before.

Over beers Sunday night my friend decided he wanted to get back into fly fishing so we headed over Piute Pass for a little backpacking trip. We started out of North Lake Tuesday morning.

Piute Pass is a very mellow trail that follows a stream most of the way up but climbs from the get go.

Got off the trail the trail at 1:30 and had to be at the Orthopedic clinic at 3:30 for my last, " go ahead and kill it (you're healed)" appointment. Luckily I had time to take a shower because I was ripe. My sunburn/ friction burn, proved I am wearing my brace which pleased Dr. Perry. After 30 miles + hiking this week, plus mtn. biking, I have a nice wear marks/burns from the brace.

So how do you do it....


Are you familiar with the trails so much that you know exactly where to go to get back to camp or do you use a gps? Do you leave your car parked somewhere and start walking or is there a lot you park in?

park your car at the trailhead and go. As far as knowing where you are, I always bring a map but it's not that difficult getting around the Sierra.

Im speechless! That reminded me so much of my 4-day back into Duck Pass. Memories you'll NEVER forget!
