I have been doing more tubin in Newport the past few weeks....sorry no reports....and I thought I would put the invite out to see if anyone wanted to join me on the 17th.
Here is what I was planning....
There is a nice tidal movement early in the morning so I was planning on a 6:30 launch and fish till 11:00 or so.

I plan on launching from the beach near the Coast Gaurd station located off Bayside.

Launching from this location will allow for fishing amongst one of the largest eel grass beds in Newport harbor not to mention some of the best submerged rock piles.

If anyone wants to join me let me know....I am always looking for new fishing buddies!
P.S. Look for the report to follow!!

Was wondering what parking is like? I have a yak on a trailer and was planning on launching from Newport Dunes, then paddling. That area @ CG station is on the CDM side, right ??

Hey DOCSTONE the parking is not to bad. There are 20 public parking spots that are free. If you get there early like before 8 there is not a problem finding a spot. If the lot is full you can park on the street.

It is alot easier to launch from here and paddles out than from the dunes!!!!

Just take PCH to Bayside and make a right. Go past Jamboree and the driveway is about 1/2 mile down on your right.....just don't park in the sherrif side of the lot you will get towed!
