Went out for 3 hours this morning to check out one of the prototype jigs been messing around with. It works, but not for what it was designed for. Supposed to be a deep water jig and it was catching the fish in 9 to 10 foot of water. Kept about 20 fish between 8” and 10” – lost both prototype jigs to structure. About half the catch was made using the new style jig. A very bad day for jigs – lost 5.

Lost 5? That's not like you. Snagged up in the tires huh? How do you work those jigs? As usual or are you retrieving it slow and steady? Any RE hit that jig?

Yeah - 3 on tire 1 and turned around and dumped 2 more on tire 2. Was sick when I lost the last belly spinner – got to get busy tonight…
You’ll like this jig – casts a mile – countdown – aim the tip – tighten –slow roll back. Set the hook with a sweep and wind like crazy. Using the Matzuo #6 sickle hooks with this jig. Got one RE on Sat. over at the rock pile in the east end – used the silver minnow.
These fish are still spawning!!!!

Too funny - seen both you and fm put your share of jigs in the tire.
Big Red is going out tomorrow with room. I'm going out solo (maybe BR to) Fri and have to take some family on Sat. Sun is open..........
