Great report, so I took your advice and tried the plastics yesterday JR, and got hammered on every drop on the sculpin. It was great. Great report JR.

Hi hbomb,

Glad to have been a part of making for a more fun and productive trip. Just wait till you start getting a bonus of a Ling, Cabezon, Treefish, or more commonly Reds !!

Nice report Ron! You're absolutely right, if you don't throw your bait (or plastic) in the pockets of kelp, you're not going to have much success. The guys who can whip a bait back 30 or 40 feet into the kelp pockets are the ones who usually wind up with a limit at the end of the day, and lately, that has been the case. It's just like real estate... LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Good job once again.

I must say, you do have the best reports....Even though I don't fish those grounds too often it is nice to see the action going on over there....

Now if I only had a laptop to read it in the latrine...lol...

Hi Jackpot Jimmy,

Yaaaa You and Ghetto...... dad among many others...... have shown us what the iron does on those Calicos in the weeds with some casting skills and a little luck on the fewer hang-ups !!

Having to roll the dice just kills this stingy only many but .... whacha gonna do !! :)

Hi murrieta angler,

Thanks. Calicos have saved the last two or three trips !!

Hope you make it out soon. Workin' stiffs with familys have little time enough for fishin' and it's a pretty serious setback to not get out as you did !!

Great report as always JR!

Now if we could only get you down to baja to teach the locals how to effectively use plastics on seabass....that would be cool!!

Hi mad bass,

Kinda worried as I heard the weather Sun Mon was going to be unsettled. We'll have to see how things develop. Definately get out there while the gettin' is good.

Hi russ88,

Thanks. That's not a teaser :) That tweek is a long one and I refuse to do more than 5 pages in my reports. I gotta break it up a little. Warning : There will be a fourth installment too !
