Nice fish! I still haven't landed a surf calico. Just be careful when you tape them out that you put the tape on the sand right next to the fish or along the middle. On top of the middle of the fish, like you did, can add up to an extra 1.5in of length and that can turn that 22.25in legal into a 21in short. be sure to check that, and resist the temptation to turn a short into your first halibut dinner.

Purposely missed a few birds today that bombed on the LC. One of them almost got it even though I was trying to rip it away from him!

try not to get so much dry sand on the feesh if you plan on releasing them...
