Fished Lifeguard tower 25 from 10am to 2:30pm with good luck!!! Morning started off good with Me and my buddy both getting fish within minutes of our lines hitting the water. Lots of shovelnose, smoothhounds, and a YFC if im not mistaken.

All caught on Frozen, Wild Caught Squid courtesy of the 24 hour Walmart in Glendora at about 11pm last night!! 2/0 Circle hooks and 4oz sinkers were the terminal tackle of choice!!

And now for the pics....please remember im 6'5" and 300+ so these fish look small next to me (the one in the vest with the black glasses)....hell I think even Rosie Odonnell would look small next to me!!! The other guy is my buddy 'VITO'

The sharks are all over the surf right now. Fun stuff! Yep, that would be a yellowfin croaker. Good fighters, willing biters. Found mostly farther out in the break than the perch, corbina and SNGF.

Try this: Hit Newport Pier on an incoming tide, muscle yourself a spot on the rail at the end and use a sabiki to make a bunch of gullible green mackerel. A nice fillet of greasy mac on that circle hook will call in the larger SNGF and Leos.

Hope that helps, go slay 'em!

You know I had about 20 frozen macs in the freezer at home from the last time I went to Balboa, and I didnt even think about bringing some with me.....good info!!!!
