View Full Version : lake skinner round 2 same day 9-5-09 catfish WFO

went back two skinner with my son in the afternoon. Got to the lake around
4pm and it was WFO for catfish from 5pm to 7pm. Fish the same spot the main channel. Bait and wait..chicken liver.

damn man. i'm supposed to try to make it out there in the PM tomorrow or sometime monday.. hopefully i can get out there even if its just for a couple hours..

If you are going the fish are bitting late in afternoon. The fish were still bitting when the ranger kick us off the water!! The fish are staying the the shallow water around 5-15 feet late in the afternoon.

Really, are you seriously! 10 bag limits. Maybe I missed the Skinner's information. Some variety lakes said 5 limit per person. Waw datz cool! 10 per person

thanks bluegill i have fish like 10 time this summer and have never caught a fish except for baby bluegill . after i saw your report i went to skinner on 9-6 got there around 1.30 in the day use 2 section and caught me a 10 lb channel catfish and 3 bullhead . best fishing i had this year::Smile: . also took the wife and kids fishing there on 9-7 same place got skunk now i know not to go on a full moon.

chicken liver and anchoives work the best, plus you may catch striper also. Already try mackel and shrimp not so good. Need to get out there the catfish has been WFO for 2 month now!!!

Im planning on trying the freshwater this weekend. what kind of set up/rigs should I use. I mainly fish the salt so I'm a NOOB to the freshwater thing

8-10lbs line
C-rig...1/8 sliding weight...1-2 feet leader..#1 circle hook
