Sorry about the crappy formatting guys...I once again had to use notepad for this..grrrrr

Hey guys,

Well, after absolutley getting the crack head shakes about wanting
to fish again after my last Tide Change trip on Monday, I made some schedule adjustments, and decided to jump on the Tide Change with Riteriner and Victor101. I would still have to work closing shift at the landing when the boat got back, but I wanted to fish.

After a horrible night of sweating from the heat and not sleeping, I
just decided to get out of bed at 2:30 a.m., shower, and head for the landing. I am absolutely sick of this heat!

Arrived at the landing at about 4:00 a.m., and Riteriner and Vic
showed up a short time later. Once all the tickets for the day's trip were sold, we boarded the boat, and left the dock promptly at 5:00 a.m.

Crew today was Captain Anthony, Mitch and Danny on Deck, and
Christine in the galley. Anthony informed us of the day's plan, which again was going to include a long run to the backside of the Island, where fishing has been better on Calico Bass, and possibly some Yellowtail. First we had to stop and get bait, which we were hoping were going to be the larger sardines like Victor had on the trip the previous day, which enabled the passengers to get more quality bass. Well, that did not work out, as all they had were anchovies. So we baited up, and made our way to the Island.

I again brought 4 rods, a 12, 15, 20, and 25. The 12 and 15 I set up
with #2 Owner Fryriner hooks, the 20 I set up with a 2/0 Owner Fryriner hook, and on my 25, I tied on a Tady C, mint green and white. Once all rigged up, I went down and attemtped to sleep a little before fishing.

I got up as we were getting ready to round the West End, and
patiently waited for our first stop. Once we arrived in the area, I could
immediately tell the wind may have possibly blown the night before, due to the water clarity and the amount of loose kelp floating all around. Made a chum line, dropped the anchor, and proceeded to start fishing.

I forgot to mention they did have a little bit of large sardine from the
previous day's trip, so the guys that started fishing them hooked into a few nicer calicos, including Riteriner and Victor. I was fishing the Iron, and was having trouble due to all the loose kelp everywhere, but ended up getting a couple nicer bass. The guys that were using the chovies had to pick through the shorts to get a legal, but it was fairly constant action. Once these fish stopped biting, we pulled anchor, and headed a little further East.

REAL MEN FISH IRON AND PLASTICS, NOT BAIT!! LOL
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i292/ghettodad/SDC10309.jpg

It was pretty much the same on each spot we hit, as we moved back
West with each move. Once spot a few barracuda started boiling, so a couple guys decided to fish the iron also, and we ended up picking through a few shorts to get a few legals. Riteriner ended up landing a log, weighing approximately 7-8 lbs. He had jackpot sewed up pretty much the rest of the day with that, until someone caught and KILLED Calico estimated to be around 9
lbs! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

ROG FOR RITERINER!

For the last spot of the day, Anthony decided to head back around
the West End and fish a spot on the front side, which produced a whole lot of shorts, a few barracuda, and a few legals. On this spot, I decided to fish 12 lb test with Green Whams, and I absolutley destroyed it. I landed about 25 shorts, and was able to pick 3 more legal fish to end my day with 8 decent Calico Bass in the sack, ALL fish caught on Iron and plastics, no bait!

Weather today was very nice, but quite hot and humid, and the crew
again did their best to help, Anthony busted his but putting us on fish, and all in all, it was a great day to be on the water. Everyone had fish to take home. I helped Mitch fillet on the way home, and took a shower because I had to work when the boat got back. We arrived back at the dock at 5:00 p.m.

Hakavellistein was there at the dock waiting for us, and talked Victor
into going back out on the Native Sun twilight with him, lol.
Thanks for reading!
