So my buddy and I fished Castaic for the first time on Wednesday. Headed over to the Fishing Arm looking for some striper action. Found lots of fish in Elizabeth Canyon and proceeded to troll with the umbrella rigs without much luck. The only catch we managed was someone elses ultra light pole and reel.
Lots of stripers jumping and we saw all kinds of short lasting boils a few which erupted right around the boat. Threw out Spooks and Rat-l-Traps into those boils, but no love.
We finally anchored up and bait and waited for a couple of hours with 'chovies where we got hit several times, but the only thing caught was this turtle by my buddy.
Catch Summary: 1 fishing pole, 1 turtle, 0 Striper
A very different kind of skunk indeed.
