Got to Bishop around 5pm. Headed into the canyon and got to North Lake around 5:30 pm. Fished for about 2 hours - no luck. There was a TON of surface action - too bad I didn't bring my waders and fly gear. After leaving with "the stripe" we spent the night in Bishop at the Bishop Village Motel. Decent enough accomodations for a one night layover. Woke up around 4:30 and headed to Gull Lake - fished for about 4 hours in the morning. Hooked up with a bunch of small fish and then got hit by a 3 pound 2 ounce beauty. Was fishing with trout worms (Lip Ripperz and Berkely Gulp and Power Worms).

Went to Silver Lake and caught 2 on the troll (gold/black rapala Cd5) over about 2 hours. Was really windy. The next day we hiked into TJ and Barret Lakes up behind Lake Mary - caught a few small rainbows on copper Kastmaster. It was a very beautiful short hike and the views of Crystal Crag were breathtaking.

That afternoon drove up to Saddlebag Lake and it was WFO on smallish rainbows - also hooked into a small brookie. Too bad the views weren't as nice as they should be, due to the fires in Yosemite.

Spent about 30 minutes on Lee Vining Creek and caught several browns on a panther martin.

The next morning fished Gull before the sun came up. Caught a couple small Sac Perch on the troll.

After that it was wide open for a couple hours on small rainbows baiting and waiting. That evening trolled for several hours and caught a handful of small rainbows. Headed back down the hill the next morning. Had a great time. It was really hot and alot of the people I talked to were having a tough time catching fish. Enjoyed a nice lunch at Tiger Bar and dinner at the Sierra Inn.
