Castaic Sunday AM

Hit Castaic Sunday with my son FishyBoy for a AM assault on Mr. Stripey.

Headed into the fish arm, and the boils were right where the wee supposed to be!

We had acres of boiling fish! Several time the stripers chased the shad right into the side of the boat. There were cormorants diving on bait, it was much like fishing Bonito or Tuna in the ocean!

We fished the spot till almost 10:30, then the boils died down. Hit a couple of more spots, and off the lake by 12:00 as we had things to do.

Lures used- Lucky craft Rattle trap
KPN Shad
KPN Rattle trap
Crocidile mac pattern

Planning on going out on wednesday also Can you give me some tips. Should i Rent a Boat? What are some good spots or sides of the lake!!!

Hi,

yes rent a boat. If you are Striper fishing look for boils and work the points. Top water , spoons, rattle traps, all work great.

Nightcrawlers and choives as well.
