This is a report for the twilight trip Saturday night, and the 3/4 day trip on Sunday. I hope you enjoy reading my report.
Saturday, August 29 - Twilight Bassin'
After the Tradition got back from its charter, we boarded the boat soon after, and after a quick safety speech from Captain Alan, we were off to the fishing grounds. My choice of set up tonight would be what has been pretty productive for me in the last month on the twilight trips, which is a plastic grub and a strip of squid. We tried one quick spot to start out, but nothing was caught. Alan soon moved on to find something better. The next spot was also slow, but the fishing has been turning on after the sun goes down, and that's exactly what occurred. As soon as the sun went down under the horizon, we immediately started to get bites and catch fish. However, there was little current, so I would give my plastic a little lob cast, and slowly drag it back. Others also caught some nice sized sand bass on the leadhead and squid, or a dropper loop with an anchovy. This spot petered out after a while, so we moved on to another spot close by. Some nice sculpin and more bass were caught at this spot. With time running out, Alan turned the boat towards Redondo, and we headed back home. Everyone caught some fish and had a fun time.

Sunday, August 30 - Catalina Bassin' and Show on Yellows
We left King Harbor at 6am going across to Catalina Island for some good bass fishing, and a shot on the yellows, which the guys have been seeing over there more and more. Our crew consisted of Captain Johnny Petrov, Derrick in the galley, Shawn on deck, and special guest deckhand Long Range Bobby K. Johnny informed us to get our sabiki rigs ready, as we would be snagging some bait on the way over. We stopped on a few kelps, but the bait was mostly small. We soon made it to the island, and got set up. The bite at our first stop was nonexistant, however, so Johnny moved on to find something better. At our next spot, Tradition regular Robert Westphal got a nice yellow on his first cast. There were also some more yellows seen at this spot, but none of them wanted to bite. The rest of the day, Johnny bounced around looking for something better, and we got into some nice calicos, and also saw some more yellows. We ended up with about 55 bass, a few bottom grabbers, and that yellow for our efforts. Definitely a nice day at the island.

That last picture is all the smoke from the fire, taken from a few miles off of Rocky Point. Anyways, it was a nice weekend of fishing. If you worked at it, you were rewarded. Great times, great fishing!
