Last Wed. My son and I went to the surf in search of some halibut. We got there at 6am and stayed till 10am (about the time the current started ripping in).
Used only the LCFM Sardine smeared with Calico Cocktail this time again and it seemed to do the trick. Worked only the South side the entire time and
noticed the butts were spread far and wide. Wow... that didn't sound good at all!!
With the outside swell churning things up, the water was really cloudy and my LC probably went un-noticed by the butts most of the time.

My son said he wanted to fish but after getting on the sand, changed his mind and instead, collected shells for his mom and made a cache of sandballs
to throw at me to keep himself entertained.

Here's some pics....

I thought for sure this fish was a legal, it pulled harder than all the other butts I've caught. Adrenaline pumping pancake:

Even though no legals to be found that day, I think thats the most butts I've ever caught in one session with sandballs
thrown at me from time to time. Also, it's been real hard to get my son onto the sand with me, so fish or no fish, I still
would of had a blast. We made an awesome sand castle on the beach afterwards which was worthy of a picture but I
let him take the pic and he didn't hold the button down long enough and the pic didn't take.. I should have reminded him.
Oh well, next time!

Nice going out there.
The shorts sure stack up there.
Every once in a while a good one will surprise ya though. Fun spot no matter what you fish for.

Haven't ever seen too many people during a weekday. Only one other person fishing on the side I was on. The other side had maybe 5 people. I'd imagine on weekends it would be crazy though.

Very nice. Congrats on a fun day! It doesn't get better than fishing with your kid!
I've got quite a few shorties with a heart of a legal and sometimes they really make it alot of fun. It'a all about the pull baby!
I Actually caught my first LC short flattie straight across from your spot (Too lazy to walk across the bridge). At low tide the flatties were chasing bait like mad in that spot but that was many years ago and that spot gets hit HARD all of the time now. If a legal finds their way into that spot.....It won't be for long.....LOL
The last time I was there ........there were a whole bunch of guys fly fishing with clousers......Is it still like that?
It was wild man..........Kept feeling like I was going to get snagged by somebodys fly...Seriously....Five guys fanned out across the north side of the inlet. Not enough elbow room for me...LOL
I'd rather drive for an extra hour up north and be the only guy on the beach!

Thanks for the report from down south. Keep it up!

Thanks Arthur :Big Grin:. I've tried all of the different Pro-Cure scents and it's been the Calico Cocktail that works the best for me.

Thanks Mike. I've only seen a couple fly guys in the past down there.
