Showed up at Perris just after 9am. It was already getting hot and smoke was in the air from the fires. Things weren't looking too good but hey I'm here. Just as I'm stretching the old legs out TJ comes driving up. The bummer thing is he's going home already. We chatted for a little bit. I guess the shoreline fishing was tough and uncomfortable with the weather. Things got much better once I got the tube in the water.

I had gotten spanked the last 2 times I tubed the east side so this time I kicked to the west side of the island. Today I was fishing plastic worms. For me that means T-rigged 7" Robos. I started out in Power Cove(lot 11) with a MMII and worked that around water slide point and across to the island for nothing. Once at the Island I switched to the Softshell Craw(:???: but its green:Confused:) and worked that to the west side. It took awhile but fish #1 hit around 11am.

Its a decent size too

I stay in the general area and get #2 about 40 minutes later on Oxblood

Its much bigger too :Envious:

He keeps my hopes up a little but I'm beat and start to head back when #4 stops me.

Got nothing else on the way back in but I was satisfied.

Also broke the 200 mile mark today in the tube.

Nice looking bass, way to tough the heat!

Cool little spreadsheet you've got going there too.

Way to go bro.
Kicked my butt out there today.
I hit it for 3hrs from shore early for one. Was playing with a few new techniques and losing baits though so wasn't expecting much.

Can't believe I was leaving from the heat when I saw you showing up to stick it out. Guess I need me one of those bright yellow jackets!

I'll see what's good for the weekend as we discussed.

Dig the chart!

Here's mine.

Being in a tube really helps with the heat. And having a old school low rider tube I'm actually sitting in the water which I'm sure helps a lot in keeping cool.

The log is new for this year. I just mainly wanted to log miles and fish count and slowly added other features. Its my first excel spreadsheet so its been fun learning that too. I look at tubing as exercise and now with the "cost per trip" added for the Poppy pass its just more incentive to go out and fish:Envious:
