Spent the day with fishindude420 out at irvine on my boat (unnamed still...lol) and had a pretty good overall day. Caught fish on several techniques and lures, for quite an exciting bite.

Started the day by missing my alarm...lol...I guess i didn't set it, as tim called me at 5 am, i got up dressed and had the boat hooked up to my truck by 520!!! fastest so far...At tim's less than 5 minutes later and made to the lake by the 6 am gate opening...couldn't believe it.

We started the day trolling the west shore from about half way to the dam, all the way to the buoy line. Got lots of topwater hits, an absolute blast to watch, Tim also got the first fish of the day on a crank...here that one is...

We shot across the dam to sierra cove and continued to do good on the topwater bite, the next few fish were of a little better quality...

For the next two hours or so we continued to get hits on the topwater, although not Wide open by any means, but fun none the less. We then tried a new spot (to me) all the way in the very back of the flats, but the water was really stained and it was super windy out there, along with two other boats anchored up. We started to make our way back out when time got slammed on the chatterbait flipping under some trees...

We ventured back into sierra cove and switched to something slower, jigs. First cast lands me a decent keeper, which came unbuttoned at the boat...Tim hits one a few casts later.

After that, we didn't take anymore pictures because most of the fish were all about the same size...we both lost a whole mess of fish right at the boat, as well as missed some BIG topwater explosions.

Most exciting bite of the day came as we were winding back into woody's cove to call it a day...i casted my topwater and it promptly catches a hanging limb, the lure slaps the water briefly and hangs there...As i get it off the limb, it hits the water and as soon as it hits (i mean instant) explosion as a roughly 2 lb bass inhales the bait...craziest thing i have seen in awhile...he was hooked pretty bad, so i released him quick...

Thanks for reading, it was an exciting day and always a blast at the vine...

All fish were caught on reaction baits or jigs...

Thanks again Whitney for the help, and Thanks for a Fun day Tim
