The Aquarium has a new white shark, collected August 12 near Malibu, California, and placed in the Outer Bay exhibit on August 26. This is its fifth white shark.

They catch a juvinile GWS each year in Malibu for research. The research boat and juvinile great white bin is usually parked in Paradise Cove during the summer. A few years ago they reported buying a juvinile from a commercial boat which by the way is illegal to keep, sell, or buy. I understand the researches are permitted to possess the fish buying it from a commercial boat just doesn't seem right. The commercial boat reported catching the shark while wrapping a school of sand bass which is also illegal to catch and sell commercially. Anyways I heard the researchers ussually catch their specimen in the area around Paradise Cove/ Point Dume.
