It’s been a long time since my last post. Sorry about that guys and gals, I know I’ve been a slacker.

Between the job and the shot at the new so called career time has been pretty limited, but we did manage a short get away to our favorite spot in the Easter Sierra.

This was going to be a bit of a different trip. You see, my Sister was making the drive with family and trailer to meet us there this year. Yes, the pulled their trailer all the way from Houston! She has been living there for about 8 years or so and hasn’t been able to make the trip for about that long as well. I haven’t even seen her for the last 6 or so. So, it was going to be a bit of a reunion trip. We have both been going up there since about birth and it was going to be great to see her and her family for a few days. As usual my Dad would be up there as well.

We arrived there on Friday the 31st and set up camp. Damn it sure feels good to get the hell out of town once in a while. My Dad and Sister were scheduled to arrive on Saturday so it left us some time to get set up in camp and just take in the beauty of the place.

Everyone did arrive almost without a hitch. Dad did have an issue in Kramer Jct that held him up a bit, but all turned out well in the end.
We had three adjacent sites with three trailers set up and were ready for some catching up, catching fish and catching up on some needed relaxation.

It was great to her and her family. Time seems to fly by and the kids have gotten older. Come to think of it that means I’m getting older too. When did this happen?

Fishing was pretty slow for us this year. Water seemed about normal not too fast. Seemed the fish were bigger, but less of them. The site was busier than usual, so I'm sure that the fishing pressure had a lot to do with it. We usually do very well, but that’s not what this trip was about. I got to spend some quality time with family. It sure was great to have us all together again. After a few hours it was just like we had never had the time apart. Felt like all in the world was right and we were all together just like we should be.

Well the time seemed to pass to fast and it was soon time to go. I had to come back down the hill to reality too soon. My Dad and Sisters family were able to stay a few more days and I starting wonder how important the job really was. I wasn’t quite ready to come home. After a few tearful goodbyes we were on our way. How could 5 days pass in an instant?
I was grateful for the time we spent together and didn’t realize how much I missed them all. It was amazing to have us all together again, even though only for a few days.

Here a few pics of the trip. Hope you enjoy.

Hope you enjoyed. I know it wasn't much of a fishing report, but it was a great time!

Miss you all,

That's excellent. At least you caught some fish. Sounds like a great time was had by all.
Hope Sis got home okay.. Houston is a long way to tow. That in itself must a been a great trip.

Last time we had a family trip like that was 24 years ago. I only got to spend two days there, but it was fun. Seems like yesterday we were all up in Mammoth.. good times..

Congrats to you, thanx for sharing the pix..

Thanks for sharing the family reunion in the beautiful High Sierras!
My brother and some friends were camped at McGee Creek last week and found the fishing slower than usual also.
Still it is always great to be able to go up there!

Yeah, did have a great time. Sis did make it and said it was worth the trip. I'm not so sure that I would have made that trek. Was great to see her though.

Thank you sir, maybe now if we ever get out on your boat we wont have to worry about the load limit. Down 120 lbs now, so maybe we can take some gear with us.
