Castaic w/ Bing Jr and his boys 8-22-09

[MAN VS WILD]

Got an invite from Bing Jr to join him and his boys for a day on the water. I haven’t been to Castaic since I was a kid and never really been striper fishing so I was pumped. Hit the water and Bing steered us to the boils. Never seen boils before and I was like a kid at a candy store. After the boils died down we went on the troll. Within 2 minutes Bam, hit 2 right away. We caught a bunch on the troll along with some quality ones. Then Bing sees a boil of big fish. He throws his lure and as it hits the water Bam, he pulls in a big one. I think it might have been 7-8 pounds. His boys also reeled in some big ones on the troll. It was wide open until the sun came out and it got really hot but we still managed to get some more fish in the boat. The morning was cloudy with rain off and on. As we headed out towards the marina Bing wanted to show me the other side of the lake. As we are cruising to the other side he spots a boil that was as big as a football field and it is on. I get my first on a top water lure. We had a couple of big ones hit and miss. So now it time to go and when I go up to get the truck Bing catches a 4 lber in the marina. He was on fire today. I want to thank Bing Jr for a really fun time with him and his boys and for putting me on the stripers for the first time. He really knows how to attack those stripers. Thanks

sounds/looks like an all out striper assault!!!looks like the bigger ones are starting to cooperate...nice report, I will get back out and try some new colors by friday. Kids look like they have striper fever! Great.

Tony, You are welcome aboard any time my friend. I have been trying to get TD to come up and do a little fising with us but he is alergic to LA county I believe but I think he will come up one day and the three of us can go on the assault. It really was an epic day of striper fishing out there and believe it or not we didn't really fish that hard. Got a little lucky and with some knowledge we put it too em. All the credit goes to "Uncle Bob" TO. For he is the one who taught me the Jedi Mind tricks to slaying MR stripey on the troll. I use my LMB experiences to catch em on the topwater. It was a great day and hopefully many more to come.

Thanks again Tony for your company and friendship on this adventure! Now I think Tony knows why Ive been converted to a Striper Junky!

Must have been the weather cuz it was bright n shiny all day Sunday and only the smaller ones wanted to cooperate!!
