went and camp from the 10th to the 14th. this trip was so amazing it is beuatiful up there and the fishing was amazing i would recomend any one to go there, but fish in the morning before it gets windy. it seemed that the fish in the lake didnt bite until about 10 and after. caught fish in the morning but most were in the afternooon.

first day we got up there about 12 sent up camp and went on the south shore. instantly i get hooked up with a nice 2 pounder on a night crawler and after that it was a constant bite on salmon egg flavor pb corn flavor and garlic flavor. i caught about 8 fish i would say in 3 hours and let 4 go. i also hooked up with a big one didnt get it weighed but i would say almost 4 pounds. about 530 went back to eat dinner and after that went to fish, went to the mini pier i guess you can call it and it was wide open on stockers with mini jigs also they like the corn flavor pb. fished till dark released them all.

the other days it was slower but after noon was hot. pretty much same story for the rest of the days also last day i caught a 3.10 pounder in the stream on a night crawler. we hiked one morning to the inlets and fishing was dead there im not sure why we threw everything out but nothing wanted to bite. so we headed back on south shore. were fishing was better. it was a awesome trip. o ya caught my second and third fish fly fishing :) that made me happy and i caught my first fish while in my float tube. another plus for the trip. ill post the pics later today after there done loading onto photobucket.

Beautiful pics & report......

By the way,Black Bears don't eat deer.........
If something killed & ate it,it was a mountain Lion.....
Watch children & pets, especially at dawn or dusk.

It looks like you just turned it upside down and pushed the top in so you could clamp it down on the line. I use same bobbers (orange and yellow) ... but I clamp on to a swivel with the snap open ... then it goes on my line. I was thinking that if a fish runs with it it will not have as much, if any resistance. I've even turned around to see my bobber laying on the ground and also have seen it go flying off. My concern is that your way may not have as much give. But, who am I to say with the success you have.

i do the same, i use a swivel on the bobber for a strike indicater or a hook and pinch the barbs down.

I see now that I didn't see ... your picture so well. It looked like it was straight bobber to line ...

I like the hook idea ... may be better than a swivel

thanks

I'm coming across this report a little late but very nice report and pictures of the trip. Was the campground within walking distance of the lake and were the sites far apart from one another? Did ou have to reserve in advance or 1st come first serve? Asking because it looks like a nice place from your pics and I'd like to make a trip up there next year or maybe even this year!

the lake was in walking distance from the campgrounds some of the camp grouds are kinda further away from the lake but it is definatly in walking distance. you dont have to make a reservation but i would recomend it if your going in the summer the campsite was full by wensday, when i was there. some of the camp sites were pretty far apart but others were kinda close it just matters what site you were to get. Hope this helps, any more questions just ask, o ya bring a lot of tacke, you get hunf up a lot in the lake, just a split shot or two and a hook is what we used.
