Jumped on a 1 day Charter on the T-bird out of Daveys Locker fishing Sunday. Haven't been on the T-bird in years.

My neighbor used to charter it back in the days. After 12 years he was stoked to be getting back on board with family and friends.

Set up at Clemente in the dark.

Full Float on the squid.

Wasn't long before we started hooking yellowtail on the dropper loop.

Had a good pick going for a few hours.

My friends wife Kristen hooked into a nice Yellow. The battle was on.......

The crew was awsome. We had some beginners on board and the guys really went out of their way to make sure we landed what we hooked. Lots of patience and that made it not so intimidating for the newbs.

Short while later the fish hit the deck................

about 25 lbs

Kristen did a great job landing this fish on the 30 lb test......

Captain made a couple of moves to keep us on the fish. Great attitude and super friendly.

I think we went about 10 for 20 on the yellows. The bite slowed down around 8-9.

One Seabass in the mix.

9AM and The captain gave us the choice to look offshore for the good stuff or stick to the island and fill some bags. Kurt the charter master made a bold call to go look off shore.

We made the call to go hunting. Kalin got everyone together and ran through the offshore drill with everybody.

Class act, don't see this much these days.

After a few hours of looking we came across some pretty good schools of Tuna. Mixed Bluefin and Yellowfin.

The fish put on a good show but very tough to get on them.

Finnaly we connected!!!

Killer Trip!! Great group of people and we sure had our shot at some nice fish.

Captain and crew was top notch and we really worked hard. Thanks to Kalin and Crew for putting out the extra effort and giving us some x-tra time to fish.

Thanks for the report. How did they handle the fish? Last time I was on it, they didn't have a refrigerated fish hold. Thinking about going on the 1.5 day trip and tuna in a gunny sack that long is no bueno.

im one of the crew members aboard the Thunderbird, and for our longer trips 1.5days and probably most of our overnights. Captain Kalen has purchased a new VERY LARGE kill bag that is stocked with both crushed and block ice before every trip. We are very happy to be back at Daveys Locker(our home)! Come down to Daveys and see us
