what is the defenition of a point, when bass fishing.

think of a peninsula slowly sloping into the water and continuing out into the lake a ways...could be long, could be 20 ft, depending on the body of water...you can think of the state of florida as a "point"...hope that answers your question

Every lake may not have points, most bigger lakes will have points, but some small man made waters may not. For example, diamond valley lake has many points, Santa ana river lakes does not have any if i remember, its just a dirt bowl. Google earth some lakes your are thinking about fishing, and try and locate the "points" via aerial view. Go out and try and fish some points...I would highly suggest taking a guide trip with Art Berry, Art Hill, or Pete Marino, or another qualified guide to learn the fish them efficiently. I definitely am no pro, but have had some success fishing points, it's a good place to start at lakes you know little about
