Coronado Islands YT- Monday 8/24

Jumped on the Chubasco 2 for their 3/4 day run to the Islands.

Light load today as only 12 anglers showed up. It was amazing to see the San Diego and the Malihini with full loads of what looked like 50 anglers each and our light load. Cool.

We saw yellows all day long but we also had to battle it out with the sea lions. I had 3 hook-ups today with the yellows. I ended up with a yt head the first run as a seal beat me to the punch. I landed the second yt and farmed the third. Beautiful day at the islands with 71 degree blue water.

All yellows were caught on sardines fly-lined quite a ways from the boat and the seals.

Boat count:

12 anglers

7 yellowtail
4 barracuda
12 calico and sculpions

My count:

1 yellowtail
1 yellowtail head
1 big calico bass

Ok I don't hate you but I am jealous of you. I went out on the Point Loma on Friday and no yellowtails for me....... aaaaaaaaaahhhh!!! Every darn boat around us was catch yellowtails except ours!! :Rolls Eyes: We should have went on the "Mission Belle"

Good job on the fishys. What a wierd deal with the Sealions .... they were actually EATING the Bass last trip and we had to move more than once !!
