Went night fishing at our spot at Rocky Point. Caught spotties, mackerel, perch, stingray, and an octopus. Caught em off squid and mackerel. Octopus was released.

That thing is the BEST bait ever...
Next time, freeze it up whole, and pull it out in the winter for rock codding.

Rocky point is the largest point at the south end of santa monica bay

Sweet, i would love to catch an octupus. Thats not an everyday, thats for sure. Do they fight at all, or are you just draggin in a lump of flesh?

at first it felt like i was snagged. but then i would feel my rod tap. when i finally started reeling it in it felt like a big piece of kelp. thats what i thought it was until i saw it wriggling around.
