View Full Version : skinner 8/24/09 catfish/striper!!!

Fish skinner all day!!! The date on the title should be 8/22/09 Saturday, not 8/24/09. It wasn't wide open, but we manage to catch fish here and there. If we didn't lose most of the fish in the early morning we would have caught are limit by noon. Between the two of us we may have lost about 20plus fish..broken line and the fish shaking off the hook..
All fish caught in the main channel, one striper caught at the east end..
Bait and Wait..Anchoives..with C-rig setup..

looks like you killed the once again. i love those skinner gills.

thanks, my uncle caught that one gill on anchoives... I saw tons of gill last week at the south ends.
Catish is WFO.. the striper were caught early in the morning..before the clouds burn off.. good luck if your are going tomorrow.

Don't worry there are stocking the cats every other week.. next stocking is this comming Thursday..
going mom house tomorrow to make lamb striper and sour soup!!!

Well done out there today to you and your uncle, you converted that bass rig into 1 hell of a fish killin machine-nice boat, nice chatting with you in the channel, yep I should have stayed later for the afternoon bite, really tough trolling outing for me and my boy, we did enjoy our lunch and listened to tunes:)... see ya next time

Thanks..the catfish at skinner is WFO around 6-7pm.

i've tried to fish for striper in main channel, but no love for me.

I want to say one more thing the stripers were showing up in August 22 when the weather was the thunderstorm, cloudy and rain. Stripers like to play at Skinner.

After the storm were gone, stripers are not liking to play, but they could biting as well in few weeks at Skinner

I can't wait for the summer will be the last season soon.

Thanks, would have caught more fish if we didn't lose those fish in the early morning.

i need to get me a fish finder and locate those stripers in the main channel. I am sick of fighting for a spot at the inlet.

too be honest, I havn't fish the inlet or bouy line all this year. That not the hot spot at skinner like everyone says. Yesterday the inlet look more like a boat parking lot!!!
