Lake Skinner and Diamond Valley lake are two different lakes. They are pretty close to each other and both are owned or ran by the Metropolitan Water District which is why they have a shared website.

Diamond Valley : Fishing only, no camping. You can only get on the water with a rental boat or sit-in kayak currently. Some shore fishing is available but it's a workout to hike down to the water since it is so low right now. ( not so great for kids)

Lake Skinner : Fishing from private boat and rental is available, or sit-in kayak. Camping is available. http://www.temeculacvb.com/play/lake_skinner.asp

No swimming or body contact of any kind is allowed at either lake. Both lakes have Bass, Stripers, Catfish and panfish.

Skinner is wide freaking open catfish right now, no love stripers as well at D.V.L. too. The stripers are going to the deep of water right now.

Good luck
