castaic upper fri 8-21 b4 work

hit the topwater this morn...got a real late start (bout 7am)

didnt take long, within the 1st 5 casts I had 2 hookups and 1 fish boated...only got a real quick shot .

I landed 3 on the KPN mini shad

Lost 2 on the mini shad and I also lost 1 that felt like a larger model on the Pearl 1 oz skinny shad..

More to this saga later but I got a quick fix on some action.

The ones I landed were the small models so I didnt bother with pics...

Waiting for the big guns patiently...

I was once told that patience is a virtue...so I patiently await their topwater dominence !

You are correct...patience is a virtue indeed...yet unattainable by man.

Keep hitting the water a sooner or later things will happen. I'm headed to lake Isabella this weekend. I think I'll take the tandem kayak and buzz around the rocky point and a couple of other favorite spots. I've been having good luck there with the cats this summer...but no monsters yet. I'm hoping that one hits my 7 year olds line. I keep telling him that one of these days he is going to get a fish on that takes his line out...he says he is ready for it. We'll see.

I'd love to get over and yak on Castaic one of these days. Maybe before the summer is over.
