I'm looking for a mountain lake in Southern California other than Silverwood or Big Bear that I can hike into tp fish and camp for the night. Prefered species Trout or Bass. Any info would be great.

Hemet Lake is kind of alpineish. You might give that one a try:Wink:

cryslal lake san bernadino mtns they have a camp ground and a road that leads to it but i beleve the road has been closed a few years

jenks lake is real pretty but no camping at the lake but there is campgrounds near by
