Hello FNN!

I'm a So Cal guy just visiting Shasta Lake this past week. I've never been on such a big lake in my own boat trying to find fish. Actually, I was here in 05, my first year ever fishing in my Kickboat.
This time I actually caught fish. I scheduled a trip with a fishing guide. It would have been my first guide trip. However, when I met him at the lake at 6AM, his boat would not start . I was bummed, and he was highly apologetic.
Oh well! I decided to take my boat out and try to learn how to fish this lake on my own. I did not get on any Trout or Salmon, but the Bass make me feel better about not getting my guide trip.

When I hooked into the Bass, I began modifying one of my favorite songs by the Notorious BIG, "Who Shot Ya!"
So I call this Who Caught Ya!

I love NorCal fishing. I have never had so many fish show up on my fishfinder in SoCal!

Here we go!

Who Caught ya!
Separate the weak from the obsolete
Had to creep North for a Lake Shasta retreat
It’s on Fish, Pull you out that Rocky Reef
How’s that steel feel, pokin’ in your cheek

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk176/Santafeeric/IMG_1191.jpg
http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk176/Santafeeric/IMG_1192.jpg

Setting the hook
Makes my heart beat
Sound like Sasquatch feet
Thundering and Cranking the bait deep
C-Rig it or drag the Drop Shot
Other fish called the DFG
Cuz they were scared of Big Pops
http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk176/Santafeeric/IMG_1193.jpg
http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk176/Santafeeric/IMG_1194.jpg
http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk176/Santafeeric/IMG_1195.jpg
http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk176/Santafeeric/IMG_1198.jpg
Saw me in the drop
All fish hooked in the corner of mouth
Hurt so good
Made its heart go south
Old Skool Reel, Rapala DT-10 I throw
Drag burn baby burn, like Disco Inferno
Normally, Skillet heat on medium low
Droppin fish in pipin hot Crisco
But this trip, I feel you, squeeze you, take pictures & let you go
Fishes know
The Angler-ical Molestation is taking place
Fishes know
Messing with Santa Fe, it ain’t safe
I’ll make your scales flake
Gulp and Octopus Hooks
Abu Garcia Reels on Big Game sticks
Santa Fe yanks the rod hard
Hook stings fish lips like pin pricks
Other Anglers glad I let em know Rapala rules
Everything around water, oh what a slaughter
Don’t need no Haters whispering about mines
And I’m one of FNN’s finest
You rewind this, Team 57’s behind this.

I really loved fishing Lake Shasta! BTW! This was my first time catching a fish from the front of the boat, while using the trolling motor and using a baitcaster!

Eric, thanks for sharing pics from your vacation. I'm especially impressed with the quality of the pictures. What camera are you using?
I've also got to say that although you didn't get to make it out on the guide trip you did very well!
I'm looking forward to seeing you next week at the legends and I want to hear more about your boat.

Yaah Man! What a thrill to actually coordinate the management of the trolling motor, while casting and reeling. All new to me!
Indeed it felt just like the Rapal game. Those lures are the Rapala's that I first bought in '05 after playing the Rapala fishing game. First time catching fish with these lues.

Thank you sir! The water was so clear that I could see down at least 15 feet. So I bet the fish were frsh tasting. All catch & release on this trip though!

Were those Spotties? They were definitely friendlier than the Salt Water Spotties when I put my thumb in their mouths.

Thanks Pontoon! I felt so blessed. All things just semed to clieck for me on this trip, once I got over the guide trip.

I use a Canon Powershot A540. I just point and click so it is all Canon
