Finally got a fish from shore at Silverwood 8-16-09

Decided to try Silverwood today since I haven't been there in over a year I believe. Took my daughter and wife's little brother and headed out. Got to the lake around 7am and hiked down. I wanted to hike to the inlet, but my fishing buddies got lazy so we stopped at a cove and put our lines in the water. Tried, nightcrawlers, anchovies, and chicken liver. Got a couple of bites before I finally landed my PB catfish with a NC. Unfortunately, I ended up giving it to my mother-in-law before I weighted it. :Crying: I just know it was the biggest I've caught and I believe my first non-bullhead catfish. That was it on the day as we left the lake at 11am. I was hoping for a striper or two, but I guess that will have to wait until next weekend when I try again.

No idea where that is. I could see the inlet from where I was (it was to my left), but it was probably another 10-15 minute hike.

Chemise it is. Nice cat, how was the water on that side, lot's of salad/algae? From the road it looks pretty clear.

Nice cat, that is a sweet place to fish. The last time I was out there (two weeks ago), there was a lot of salad in close to shore. We fished the same area later from a boat and there wasn't nearly as much. Good lookin' out, bro.

Yep, lots of salad. Water level looked pretty high as well.
