Sutherland, which maybe a little to far for you. You should be able to catch a truck load full of them.
What are you going to do with the carp???
Here is a family old secret how to cook carp
clean and scale real good...
Salt and pepper outside and inside belly..
Place one full white onion and green onion inside belly..
Wrap up with foil..
Lay the carp on a wood board.." this is most important"
slow bake at 150 deg. For 4 hrs
Unwarp foil with fish still on wooden board.
Butter and lime sprinkle on top of fish.
Last step...
Throw away the Carp and enjoy eating the bake wood:ROFL::ROFL:

Silverwood, please come take as many as you can. I get tired of seeing those things come up and thinking I've got LMB's or stripers boiling.

California Aqueduct. Please take them all so people will stop thinking they are stripers jumping all over the place. There are some big carp in the duct. Fish the back side of siphons at sunrise, sunset or night with corn and you will get them.

Try the river channel on the backside of balboa lake, big fat river carp live there and you might get lucky and catch one of those giant amazonian catfish that were released in the river after they got to big for pet owners aquariums. Good Luck!!

Castaic Lower lagoon has a lot of big carp. Big bear, which is a little more than 20 miles away from van nuys, would be the best bet for big carp.

LAKE HEMET(was paying 25 cents a pound to get rid of them, not sure if they still are), LAKE ELSINORE, BIG BEAR LAKE are the lakes with the largest problem with them. If you do catch them, take them with you, as these lakes have what I would call "stunted" populations. Many of a smaller size. Their removal will help other species propogate better and improve water clarity.
