Nice report Ron. When I fish plastic, I find I get 80% hits on the fall, mostly around the kelp. I've been using a Mustad Ultra Point leadhead 3/8 oz. red color with a baitfish colored zoom. It's been working pretty well for the bass.

Thanks, As in my report .... that's about my experience too. Having fished the structure in deeper water a majority of the time, it has proven to be that the deeper the water the lower in the water column the bite 'zone' starts. Ending .... of course..... on the bottom.

Eyes ..... how 'bout them eyes ? Got a buddy that swears the leadheads HAVE to have eyes for maximum effectiveness. I used to put google eyes on my leadheads but I can't say I noticed a difference and don't do it anymore.

Any thoughts/experience ?

I like having eyes on my leadheads and I'd say it helps with bass anyway. Man yellowtail at the shoe that's some action I'd like to get into. Very nice report JapanRon.

I like it, I like it !! Now if I can only figure out just how to keep the google eyes stuck to the leadhead for good without being torn off by fishy or structure or water intrusion. I've tried to seal 'em with just about everything under the sun except eproxy.

Looks like another project to begin and an aside to write !

Thanks. Yeah .... I shook off two, lost a couple, C & Red a couple then started fishing way out then deep to try to avoid the cuda.

I didn't need no stinkin' limit of those darn slimers ! ha ha
