Newport Harbor and just outside 8/12

Launched the kayak around 10:00 this morning and headed just outside the harbor for about an hour. Managed to catch a couple of these guys.

Bite out there was a little slow so I paddled back in past the bait barge and switched to the ds with gulp shads and got this shortie.

A few minutes later hooked into another shortie exactly the same size but a tougher little fighter.

Bite slowed down a little after that. But did manage this spottie on my way in around 1:00. Not really fast action but a decent 3 hours on the kayak.

Way to pull a couple out. NPH has been very unusually slow lately. I need to paddle out of the harbor soon.
