I'm going to be in San Juan Capistrano this weekend. Anyone do any fishing around there?

Appreciate any insight!

hey city dad .dpdad here there are a few fishing spots locally Doheny state beach is right there as well as the D.P harbor and jetty for spotties and sandies as well as the occasional but. the surf at doheny were the creek enters the sea is good for croaker and sharks at night. also could try the san clemente pier good luck

Doheny state beach is a good place to fish i have caught a nice Spotfin Croaker there just last month. My friend has caught four nice Spotfins out of there. The trick is that you have to use mussel and use light line and just cast it out about ten feet from shore and hold on to your pole because they only bite once and then they are gone. Get there early because the kelp comes up and make fishing harder. I put up a pic of the Spotfin so you can see how big it was.
