Taking my two young ones fishing to Mammoth.
What is the best bait and set-up right now ?
Does power bait work up there ?

2 lb leader, a pole that can cast real far and the willingness to fish during the first and last hour of sunlight each day.
Or if you are just looking to put your boys on fish, hit the Owens at Browns Campground and throw tiny rapalas all day long until they get tired of it.
I took my 5 yr old nephew, he caught his 1st trout on gulp eggs, leader about 5' long behind a bubble. He caught 3more at Lake Mary that day, was very excited, and wants to go back. If you want to ensure catching something, take them to PVR early (before it gets too hot). My nephew limited in about 2 hrs there.
