Took out the boat for the first time to the Coronados. Reports have been some yellowtail, bonito, and bass. Fished from 8-12, about 25 private boats and 2 charter boats around, fishing the middle grounds. Landed one 9 pound yellow (Whew hoo - first one!), lost one bonito at the boat, had 2 come off, and missed 4 other strikes. (The bait was huge sardines, we let 'em run for 5-7 seconds, but still missed them???) Sea lions were on almost every boat. We brought up at least 10 halved sardines. One did grab my yellow on the head for a few seconds near the end, but I luckily ripped it out. Water was rough! Lots of bouncing around, used one of the rocks for a little shelter from the waves. Will definitely hit it up soon again!
