Been busy with work and family get togethers for the past few weeks and haven't had much time to spend on the boat until today. So, after sweating it out for 8 hrs. today, thought I'd share some before and after shots with you.

This is how she was when I bought her. The gel coat was heavily oxidized I couldn't even tell the original color because it was so faded.

Close up of gel coat. It was rough to the touch and couldn't even make out the metal flake. I honestly thought that I was going to have the whole boat re-gel coated.

Bow area. This was probably the worst part of the boat.

Stern. Same story here. You can tell the original logos were replaced sometime before. There are also what seems to be chips/gouges in the gel coat and was filled with Marine Tex.

After 12+ hrs. of wet sanding, compounding, polishing, and waxing until my arms fell off. I finally got one side to show her true colors.

The bow area turned out better than I expected, but I think I'm still going to put a piece of that non slip mat on top to give it a more modern look.

Those tore up numbers were bugging me, so they just had to go.

This has been a fun, yet exhausting, restore project so far. This is my first boat so I'm making sure I take my time to do the job right and not screw anything up. There's still plenty of work to do. I guess you can say that I have just scratched the surface.

Sweet Daryle, the new ride looks great. I suggest tiger balm for your arms and back buddy.

How much did you pay for your boat when you bought it. I just got a 89 ranger that looks similar. I could say we have an identical boat :)

I Literally just bought it today, and left a deposit. I dont have any real close up pictures but it does look like it needs a little TLC. He said he can redo the whole carpet for $200.00. Is that a good deal? Also it's just the inside that needs a little cleaning, new seat covers and definitely a good wax. I paid 2,000 for it. 150 merc and he's stating the motor is bad *** 60+mph with 4 people on there. These are the only 2 pictures of it. I will have this boat out in 2 weeks either at Perris or Elsinore. I'll make sure i'll take more pictures then. BTW - YOU DID A HELL OF A JOB IN THE BEFORE AND AFTER PICTURES.

Thanks bro. $200 for a carpet job sounds like a good deal. Considering all the work that is involved. For an '89 you got a steal of a deal! That boat should go for at least $6000. :Thumbs Up:
