Got to the lake at 6:30 and got to the spot for some bait and wait at 7:00. The water temp. dropped from the 79 degrees it was 2 weeks ago to 74.5 degrees. Was worried this would have shut down the bite, and the water apears to have dropped quite a bit too. Located a good school in about 75' of water, about 20' off the bottem and dropped the rigs loaded with 6lb berkley florocarbon and #4 owner circle hooks. within 5 minutes we had our first striper in the box. then another, and another. Had to do a lot of fancy footwork with the trolling motor to keep us on the bite zone. Fished til about 11:30 (even though the fish were still biting we had got our fill) and then headed to the bouy line to just relax and take a nap before the wife and her friend and the kids got there, of course i had to throw out the lines but didn't get bit at all there.
It was a great day on the lake today with family and friends, but a real long one. (spent 14 hours on the water)
Saw FNN member Markymark out there today. It was good to finally meet you.
