more crappie isabella 8-6-09

mike & i & his grandson, shane hit the lake for a few hrs. this morning. arrived at the lake at 6 am. wind was really blowing.

launched by reds marina because of the wind & white caps. did not want to cross the lake. tied up to a stump south east of the marina about 300 yards out. wind was wippin & throwing us all over. caught a few & felt like the shower lasted to long.

we all were soaked. moved south west by the rocks and anchored to some stumps. water was a little smoother. we did not catch our limit, but most of them were good sized.

used dark green with white tail & dark green with yellow tail.

1/32 jig

4lb test

fished about 2 to 3 hrs.

caught about 40

shane was on the bluegill

nice to get off the water. feel like i am still movin.

when the wind stops they are there to be had

Great job! I like to launch at the main dam myself, its the easiest place to recover when it gets windy, which it always does. My nephew wants to go over tomorrow but according to every weather report I've heard its gonna get WINDY! I'll probably head up north and fish along the Owens for bass.

Man...luv the look of that structure...like its got to be holding crappie.

Down here in SD...I'll drift in white caps up until 1/2 ft or so...but I've heard about the winds up there in this lake...
