NY4Reels!

At the last Fred Hall Show, Shimano had some good deals going on. I jumped all over a “free overnighter” if you bought a Tyrnos II or some other combo of their high end goods, I ended up with a Tyrnos !! 16 which Shimano filled with free 80# hollow core spectra. I collected my voucher and promptly made reservations out of Fisherman’s Landing onboard the Apollo.
Well time went by and my trip came up so I shot down to SD and jumped on. This had to be my best fishing trip yet. Shimano had so many give aways. They raffled off 2 Tyrnos reels (10 & 12 single speed) bags, t shirts, pliers, butterfly jigs, hats, visors, etc. I wound up with a visor, pliers, and several BF jigs.Very Cool!!!
I need to make this short cause I’m getting ready to fish with my father in law. 1st paddy no one home. Second paddy, 2 yellow tail. I was the 1st person to put a fish on the boat with a 15 – 18#er. Another very exciting moment for me!

We found several more paddies but mostly they were vacant and the last one had YT with lock jaw. We trolled and scored on the jig strike and then on the slide with bait fish. It seemed like we had jig strikes and bait fish hourly through the day.
The YT came on a 25# set up, the YFT came on the toll, and the Albie came the slide using a 30@ set u p. all #2/0 Owner circle hooks.

We caught a mix of tuna something to the tune of 12 YFT, 12 BFT, 8 Albies, and 2 YT. For 21 people. Not bad for an overnighter with a bunch of actually very nice people for a change! I highly recommend any Shimano sponsored trip. What didn’t they give away!
